Early Struggles

Deepak faced many challenges during his early cricket days. In 2008, when he was trying to join the state cricket team in Rajasthan, he was rejected by Greg Chappell, who was the director of the Rajasthan Cricket Academy at that time. Chappell told him that he was not good enough to play at a higher level. This was a hard moment for Deepak, but he did not give up.

Instead, he worked harder every day. He practiced swing bowling, which means making the ball move in the air to confuse the batsman. He trained under coach Navendu Tyagi, who helped him develop his skills. Slowly, Deepak improved and made a name for himself in domestic cricket.

One of the most remarkable moments in Deepak’s career came in 2019 during a T20 series against Bangladesh. In that game, he took six wickets while giving only seven runs, which is one of the best bowling performances in T20 cricket.

Deepak also won many awards, including the “T20I Performance of the Year” in 2019 from the International Cricket Council (ICC).
